Who are we & what do we do?
D’zz Spot Reptarium & Educational Center is a community‑based reptile rescue and learning hub dedicated to respect, curiosity, and compassionate care. We provide lifelong sanctuary for captive‑bred and non‑native reptiles, offer hands‑on educational programs for schools and families, and inspire people of all ages to understand wildlife through our motto: Respect Not Fear. From rescue to outreach, we help our community connect with animals in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive way.
Our Mission
To inspire respect and understanding of all creatures through education, fostering coexistence with reptiles, bees, and bats. By dispelling fear with knowledge, we aim to transform misconceptions, reduce harm, and promote conservation. We also provide rescue and rehabilitation for unwanted or injured non-native and captive-bred reptiles, recognizing their critical role in maintaining a healthy and balanced ecosystem.
How you can help
Donations
D’zz Spot Reptarium & Educational Center thrives because of people who believe in compassion, curiosity, and community. Your support helps us care for rescued reptiles, expand our education programs, and finish our facility so we can fully open our doors to families, schools, and visitors across Kansas.
Food
Feeding our reptiles is one of our largest ongoing expenses, and community support helps us keep every animal healthy and thriving. Your contribution ensures we can provide fresh produce, quality proteins, and species‑specific diets for all animals in our care.
Places
Walmart — Fresh produce, cleaning supplies, storage bins, and basic habitat décor. (Don't forget to round up online.)
Tractor Supply — Feeders, bedding, heat bulbs, tools, and building materials.
Bomgaars— Produce, livestock supplies, and habitat materials.
Local Grocery Stores — Greens, vegetables, fruits, and fresh food for tortoises, lizards, and omnivores.

Did you know?
Tegus smell with their tongues — They pick up tiny scent particles in the air to understand their surroundings. Reptiles need heat to stay healthy — They can’t make their own body warmth, so proper temperatures keep them active and strong. Many reptiles are incredibly smart — Tegus, monitors, and tortoises can learn routines, recognize people, and solve problems. Some reptiles live longer than dogs or cats — Tortoises can live 50–100 years, and many snakes live 20–30 years. Not all reptiles make good pets — Some species require special diets, large enclosures, or permits. Responsible care matters.
